27 Neutral Affirmations to try each day

Do you ever struggle with speaking kindness to yourself? That could be because kindness or positivity might actually be too much of a challenge for now. My suggestion is to try neutral affirmations!

Let’s begin

If you’ve been to my blog before, you’ve probably seen I like to jump right in! I can tell you my ‘why’ for everything at the bottom of this post, but I know for me, I like answers right away!

So, neutral affirmations are meant to help bridge the gap between negative and positive, sometimes they look like facts even! But that’s the point, they are supposed to affirm your regular, daily routine, every day life! Not from a positive or negative lense, but from a perspective of what is really happening. Take the image above, “I have what I need within my body, my body is capable.” All of us are capable, we may have to change our expectations if they become too unrealistic, but the truth is that we are actually capable and you have the will, and the strength within you! The strength just may take some time to be nourished- but you’ve still got it! So all the rest of these neutral affirmations are just like that. I want you to use them as you need them!

Neutral Affirmations

The one where I learned I am capable:

  1. Each day I can learn more about myself. When I feel angry I can take a break or ask for help.

  2. I will learn to be gentle. I can work towards being gentle to every fiber of my being.

  3. Today I will try to see myself as capable.

  4. Today I will try to see myself as strong.

  5. I will keep expectation that I enjoy.

  6. I am capable. My inner critic does not control me right now.

  7. My body is capable. My body is safe.

The one where I learned about gentle:

8. I will choose a part of my body to focus on with gentle intention.

9. I will choose to be kind to myself today, including when I look at myself in the mirror.

10. I live in the embrace I give myself today

11. I will learn to be gentle with myself. I will open myself to the gentleness that I have always desired.

12. Today I will see my body as a gentle invitation to myself.

The one where I learn to address my body:

13. My body holds the story of my life.

14. Rest can be whatever my body needs it to be.

15. My body is more loved than my inner critic says.

16. My body deserves to be nourished.

17. My body is meant to adapt and change.

18. Today I will open my mind and body to grace.

19. I am allowed to rest, my body deserves rest.

20. My body deserves to be seen and cared for.

21. My body is powerful and I am privileged to live in connection to my body.

22. My body deserves to be honored, even when I do not like my body at the moment.

23. My body is more loved than my childhood bully says.

The one where I include nature:

24. Nature shows me what seasons of healing can do for a damaged core. I will learn from nature.

25. I am my own sunshine. Light radiated through me.

26. Nature does not hurry, and still it accomplishes all. I will learn from nature.

27. I am allowed to take up space, just as a tree does not apologize for it’s need for space.

C’est Fini? (Is it finished?)

Yes! I love giving simple examples for people. I’m a researcher and learning to be a writer but when it comes to advice I figure why not keep it short and sweet?

I have been on the googling side of things, needing help, needing answers fast! Do you remember that little paperclip in Word Documents? That little friend was so helpful. That’s the kind of blog posts I need sometimes.

Extra credit:

LOL. I’m not grading you here, but what I can say is saying these affirmations to yourself in the mirror can make a significant shift. If you have hard time looking at yourself in a full length or half length mirror, try just a face mirror. Seeing yourself speak affirmations can further embed the significance of what you are saying into your brain.

High Fives all around!
